As a Communications Designer for Meta, I provide brand, social media, and presentation support for various internal and external events. I work closely with executives, VPs, developers and track speakers to create iconography and visuals to convey complex technological concepts to a broad audience.
Some of the external events supported include Inside the Lab, @Scale Conferences, Oculus Connect, Global Client Council (GCC), CogX Festival and Leadership Summit, and Open Compute Project (OCP) Regional & International Summits.
In addition to event support, I partner with Comms leads and stakeholders on a variety of projects including blog posts, illustrations, animations, and internal wiki design.
Working with speech writers, event speakers, and other designers my role at Facebook was to create compelling and visually stimulating presentations that effectively communicate complex ideas for the annual Oculus Connect event.
Oculus Connect 6 gathered more than 5,000 of the industry's leading developers, creators and visionaries to celebrate virtual reality's journey and the road ahead.
My work included numerous illustrations and animations. For example, this fun ‘saber’ animation meant to show how physically taxing some VR experiences can be on users and how developers need to think about what they’re asking users to do during the development process.
While at SolarCity, I worked both independently and in collaboration with the broader Creative Team on a myriad of projects including print ads, social media assets, reports, presentations, landing pages and icon development.
A particularly proud design moment was getting the opportunity to concept and design the campaign for SolarCity’s San Francisco Pride sponsorship, which included logo treatment, signage and swag.
As part of the Global Sales Assets team within the Google Customer Solutions group, my work was focused on developing customer-facing sales materials, including infographics, animations, data sheets and decks, for the global sales teams.
I was responsible for the concept and design of the main sales deck for the global team which outlines the year’s priority growth areas. Development of this deck required collaboration with a large pool of stakeholders from around the world, and included the creation of deck modules highlighting the many product offerings under the Google Ads umbrella.
To say 2020 was hard is an understatement of epic proportions. It's been sh*t. Social distancing, distance learning, economic implosion and sourdough bread - this year was a dumpster fire of used tires that will belch black smoke into the atmosphere for months (years?) to come.
Many times the news would overwhelm me, the anger bubbling up with nowhere to go. On those days, I’d try to channel some of that energy creatively and this page offers a sampling of what transpired.
While at Shutterfly, I worked on a wide variety of design assets, both digital and print. This included landing pages, banners, GIFs, brochures and mailers.
Additionally, I was responsible for the concept and execution of their Cyber Monday campaign across all platforms.
My work with Collaborative Economics focused on translating complex ideas and data into graphic visual representations for our clients.
I designed and managed the overall look and feel of such projects as the Silicon Valley Competitiveness and Innovation Project, Clean Economy Solutions, the Index of the Massachusetts Innovation Economy (which included a companion web portal) and the California Economic Summit.
